When learning a foreign language, a student must acquire writing, listening, reading, and speaking skills. The author of the Paper encountered that there are students who have difficulties in practicing speaking skills, and they feel anxious and even afraid when they have to speak in English. The aim of this Paper was to find out the possible causes of students’ anxiety and to find solutions to reduce it so that students can develop their speaking skills. To achieve the aim, the author carried out a case study in which the causes of anxiety in two Grade 1 students were investigated, and methods were adapted to alleviate them. It was found that the causes of anxiety were different for each student, and there were methods that could be used to reduce anxiety in both students at the same time, while there were methods that helped only one student but not the other. The author summarized and analyzed these methods. As a result, both students made progress and overcame their anxiety to speak in English lessons, but not at the same time and not thanks to the same methods.
