Daudziem maziem uzņēmumiem augot uz vidēja izmēra uzņēmumiem, tīkla struktūra un tā segmentēšana netiek izvirzīta, kā svarīga un nepieciešama lieta, kas būtu jāveic, lai uzņēmuma datortīkls spētu optimāli un droši darboties. Kvalifikācijas darba mērķis ir segmentēt vidēja izmēra uzņēmuma datortīklu, kā arī uzlabot tā tīkla drošību uzstādot papildus programmas, kas ievāc un apstrādā ierīču žurnālfailus un arī, kas spēj analizēt tīklā esošus datorus par neierastām un ļaunprātīgām darbībām. Darba gaitā tika veikta uzņēmuma tīkla izpēte, tīkla problēmu analīze, risinājuma plānošana, kā arī risinājuma ieviešana reālā uzņēmuma tīklā. Many small businesses, when they are expanding to a larger scale and, in turn, their internal networks, do not prioritize a restructure of the company’s network to a properly segmented network, that improves the overall performance of the network and adds additional security measures, due to more vulnerable machines and users of the network, being segmented from the other parts of the network. The main goal of the qualification work is to segment a medium-scale business’ computer network and to install additional software that collects and processes log files from various network devices and has the ability to scan local computer systems for any suspicious or malicious activities. To accomplish these goals, the company’s computer network was analysed and based on that information, a segmentation plan was created and the security programs chosen. After these steps had been completed, then the planned solution was realized.
