Pētījumā aplūkoti Mihaila Bulgakova romāna "Baltā gvarde" pamatmotīvi un to atspoguļojums tāda paša nosaukuma 2012. gada ekranizācijā . The paper considers the main motives of Mikhail Bulgakov's novel "The White Guard" and their reflection in the film adaptation of the same name in 2012. The purpose of the study is to determine the main motives of the original text and the main motives of the film adaptation of the book. Also, the goal is to compare the motives by analyzing individual scenes and episodes of both works. The work is divided into two parts. The first part considers the concept of motive, the concept of film adaptation and its types, as well as the identification of motives, and the study of elements of cinema. The second part assumes the use of a comparative method to compare the scenes of the series and the novel, and the correlation of the main motives of the works is also assumed. This topic may be of interest to philologists, film critics, literary critics, as well as anyone interested in the subject of film adaptation.
