The aim of the thesis is to research the relationship of the followers of Judaism with Christians in the kingdoms of Castile and Navarra of the Iberian peninsula, beginning with the first successful Christian conquests in the 2nd half of the 11th century to the end of the reign of Alfonso X in 1284, focusing on the representation of the Judaist role in the Christian society in laws and literature. Judaist presence and relations with Christians was regulated by law codexes and municipal laws – city charters. It was concluded, that laws encouraged work relations between Christians and Judaists, but could punish both sides for establishing too close social ties. The expressed attitude in laws was similar to literature works and the Judaist stereotypes of the time could have been taken from laws and the situation, which they created.
