Arheoloģisko mantojumu visā pasaulē apdraud teritoriju apbūvēšana un saimnieciskā izmantošana, kā arī izlaupītāji, tādēļ visas pasaules sabiedrības pienākums ir īstenot šī mantojuma pārvaldību, tā, lai saglabātu nākamajām paaudzēm šī neatjaunojamā kultūras resursa vērtīgāko daļu. Pētījumā aplūkota Daugavas lejteces teritorijā starp Rīgu un Ogri realizētā arheoloģiskā mantojuma pārvaldība, izvērtējot līdz šim paveikto arheoloģiskā mantojuma apzināšanas, apzinātā mantojuma novērtēšanai nepieciešamās pētniecības un vērtīgākā arheoloģiskā mantojuma aizsardzības rezultātus. Pētījuma rezultāti apliecina, ka aplūkotajā teritorijā saimnieciskās darbības radītais apdraudējums arheoloģiskajam mantojumam ir bijis aktuāls jau kopš pārvaldības sistēmas izveidošanas un tā aktualitāte ejot laikam ir tikai pieaugusi. Archaeological heritage around the world is threatened by the construction and economic use of territories, as well as looters, therefore it is the responsibility of the entire world society to implement the management of this heritage to preserve the most valuable part of this non-renewable cultural resource for future generations. The study examines the archaeological heritage management implemented in the Lower Daugava region, evaluating the results of the archaeological survey, the research for the evaluation of the identified heritage and the protection of the most valuable archaeological heritage. The results of the research confirm that the threat to the archaeological heritage caused by economic activity in this territory has been relevant since the establishment of the management system and its relevance has only increased over time.
