Baltijas jūras gliemeņu Mytilus trossulus sniegto ekosistēmu pakalpojumu novērtējums

Abstract

Līdz šim, novērtējot vidi regulējošos EP, bieži netiek ņemta vērā ekoloģiskā sarežģītība, un izvērtējums parasti tiek balstīts tikai teorētiskos pieņēmumos. Turklāt pēdējo gadu laikā arī Latvijas piekrastē konstatētas būtiskas izmaiņas ziemeļu ēdamgliemeņu sastopamībā un to sabiedrību struktūrā, kas saistīts ar apaļā jūrasgrunduļa ienākšanu. Maģistra darba mērķis-kvantitatīvi novērtēt ziemeļu ēdamgliemeņu (Mytilus trossulus) sniegtos vidi regulējošos ekosistēmu pakalpojumus. Darba ietvaros tika veikti eksperimenti gliemeņu āttīrīšanas ātruma, O2 patēriņa, asimilācijas efektivitātes noteikšanai, kā arī aprēķināts to Condition index, novērtēta spēja uzglabāt N un P un C piesaistes potenciāls. Papildus tam tika veikta dažādos dziļumos mītošu gliemeņu sabiedrību struktūru analīze. Rezultātā tika kvantitatīvi novērtēti ziemeļu ēdamgliemeņu sniegtie vidi regulējošie EP.

To date, ecological complexity has often been disregarded, and the valuation of the regulating ecosystem services (ES) tends to be based on limited assessments. Moreover, significant changes in the occurrence of blue mussels and their community structure related to the appearance of the round goby have been detected on the coast of Latvia in recent years. The aim of the Master's thesis-a quantitative assessment of the regulating ecosystem services provided by blue mussels (Mytilus trossulus). Experiments to determine the mussel clearance rates, O2 consumption, assimilation efficiency and measurements of Condition index were carried out, as well as their C sequestration potential and ability to store N and P was evaluated. In addition, an analysis of the structures of mussel communities inhabiting different depths was conducted. As a result, the regulating ES provided by the blue mussels were quantified.
