Dabas resursu nodoklis (DRN) ir vides politikas īstenošanas instruments, kura efektīvai pielietošanai ir potenciāls uzlabojumiem. Jau gandrīz divus gadus izstrādes procesā ir DRN likuma grozījumi. Darbā tiek izvērtēta DRN atbilstība Eiropas Savienības un Latvijas vides politikai. Pēc tam tiek veikta DRN ieņēmumu analīze, to sadalījums pa budžetiem un izmantošanas veidi un mērķi. Tiek izvērtēti DRN pozitīvie un negatīvie aspekti, pieteiktie grozījumi, kā arī tiek izteikti priekšlikumi DRN uzlabošanai. The Natural Resource Tax (NRT) is a pivotal tool for enforcing environmental policy, with considerable potential for enhancement. The process of revising the NRT Law has been underway for nearly two years. This study critically assesses the alignment of the NRT with the environmental policies of both the European Union and Latvia. Subsequently, an in-depth examination of the NRT revenues is undertaken, which includes their allocation across various budgets as well as their varying types and intended applications. This investigation also weighs the pros and cons of the NRT, evaluates the proposed amendments, and finally, offers recommendations for the betterment of the NRT.
