Abstract

Militāro terminu lietojums latviešu valodā kļuvis aktuālāks kopš Krievijas Federācijas iebrukuma Ukrainā. Maģistra darba “Militāro terminu atveide latviešu valodā” mērķis ir izpētīt militāro terminu atveidi latviešu valodā. Pētījuma uzdevumi ir izveidot teorētisko ietvaru par terminoloģiju, terminiem. Izpētīt terminoloģijas un terminrades vēsturi un attīstību Latvijā, uzzināt kā termini tiek izstrādāti mūsdienās. Izstrādāt militāro terminu glosāriju. Analizēt militāros terminus balstoties uz teorētisko ietvaru. Pētījuma rezultāti liecina, ka militārās nozares terminoloģija latviešu valodā ir pilna ar aizguvumiem un joprojām attīstās, jo novērojams daudznozīmīgums un nekonsekvence.

The use of military terms in Latvian has become more relevant since the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation. The theme of the master’s thesis is “Rendering of Military Terms in Latvian”. The goal of the paper is to research how military terms are coined in Latvian. The tasks to achieve the goal are to establish a theoretical framework on terminology and terms. To study the history and development of terminology in Latvia, to find out how terms are being coined in contemporary times. To develop a glossary of military terms. To analyse the military terms based on the theoretical framework. The results of the research paper indicate that a lot of military terms in Latvian are borrowings, and that military terminology is still evolving because terms are polysemous and inconsistent.
