Metadatu nozīme kultūras mantojuma objektu piekļuves nodrošināšanai lietotājiem

Abstract

Maģistra darbs tika izstrādāts, lai noskaidrotu, vai piešķirtie aprakstošie metadati (atslēgvārdi) atbilst lietotāju vajadzībām kultūras mantojuma digitālo objektu meklēšanai. Tas bija svarīgi, lai varētu uzlabotu aprakstošo metadatu kvalitāti, lai lietotāji iegūtu precīzākus meklēšanas rezultātus. Pētījuma teorētisko ietvaru veidoja sociālais konstruktīvisms, metadatu bagātināšanas un filtrēšanas teorija, Sāras Šatfordes-Leinas attēlu indeksēšanas modelis un Jensa-Ērika Meja dokumentorientētais un uz domēnu (darbības lauku) orientētais indeksēšanas modelis. Pēc maģistra darba rezultātiem var secināt, ka nav iespējams sasniegt pilnīgu atbilstību starp nozares speciālistu aprakstošajiem metadatiem un lietotāju piešķirtajiem atslēgvārdiem. Lai paaugstinātu aprakstošo metadatu kvalitāti, ir nepieciešams izstrādāt fotodokumentu aprakstīšanas instrukciju, kas atbilst šībrīža situācijai.

This master's thesis was designed to find out whether the assigned descriptive metadata (keywords) meets the needs of users searching for digital objects of cultural heritage. This was important so that the quality of the descriptive metadata could be improved so that users would get more accurate search results. The theoretical framework of the study consisted of social constructivism, metadata enrichment and filtering theory, Sarah Shatford-Lane's image indexing model and Jens-Erik May's document-oriented and domain-oriented indexing model. According to the results of this master's thesis, it can be concluded that it is impossible to achieve a complete match between the descriptive metadata of industry specialists and the keywords assigned by users. In order to increase the quality of descriptive metadata, it is necessary to develop an instruction for describing photo documents that corresponds to the current situation.
