Šajā pētījumā tiek analizēta abortu reprezentācija Latvijas ziņu portālos Delfi.lv, LSM.lv un Tvnet.lv no 2015. līdz 2021. gadam. Aborts ir sarežģīts un jutīgs temats ar nozīmīgu sociālo, politisko un ētisko ietekmi. Veids, kādā tas tiek atspoguļots plašsaziņas līdzekļos, var veidot sabiedrības viedokli, ietekmēt politiskus lēmumus un ietekmēt vispārējo diskursu par reproduktīvajām tiesībām. Pētījuma teorētiskajā daļā tiek apskatīta attiecīgo teorētisko ietvaru izpēte saistībā ar abortu reprezentāciju Latvijas ziņu portālos. Tajā tiek iekļauta kultivācijas teorija, kas pēta, kā mediju iedarbība ietekmē uztveri un attieksmi, īpaši interneta ziņu portālu kontekstā. Tiek apspriesti abortu ētiskie un psiholoģiskie aspekti, pētot dažādas attieksmes un perspektīvas Latvijas sabiedrībā, tostarp feminisma viedokļus. Pārejot pie metodoloģijas sadaļas, pētījumā izmantota jaukta metožu pieeja, lai izpētītu abortu reprezentāciju Latvijas ziņu portālos. Tas ietver gan kvantitatīvās, gan kvalitatīvās pētniecības metodes. Pētījuma empīriskajā daļā tiek veikti satura analīzes rezultāti, koncentrējoties uz abortu atspoguļojumu izvēlētajos Latvijas ziņu portālos. Šajā sadaļā tiek iekļauta katra portāla satura analīzes rezultāti, izceļot tēmas, rāmēšanas paņēmienus un perspektīvas, kas parādas abortu atspoguļojumā, kā arī tiek veikta aptaujas atbilžu un padziļināto interviju analīzes, atspoguļojot respondantu uzskatus un viedokļus par abortiem Latvijā. This study analyses the representation of abortion in the Latvian news portals Delfi.lv, LSM.lv and Tvnet.lv from 2015 to 2021. Abortion is a complex and sensitive topic with significant social, political and ethical implications. The way in which it is covered in the media can shape public opinion, influence political decisions and affect the general discourse on reproductive rights. The theoretical part of the study examines the relevant theoretical frameworks in relation to the representation of abortion in Latvian news portals. It includes cultivation theory, which examines how media exposure influences perceptions and attitudes, particularly in the context of online news portals. It discusses the ethical and psychological aspects of abortion, exploring different attitudes and perspectives in Latvian society, including feminist views. Turning to the methodology section, the study uses a mixed-methods approach to explore the representation of abortion in Latvian news portals. This includes both quantitative and qualitative research methods. The empirical part of the study analyses the results of the content analysis, focusing on the coverage of abortion in selected Latvian news portals. This section includes the results of the content analysis of each portal, highlighting themes, framing techniques and perspectives that appear in the coverage of abortion, as well as analyses of survey responses and in-depth interviews, reflecting respondents views and opinions on abortion in Latvia.
