Esterjētlandes rūnakmeņi un kapakmeņi: sociālās un simboliskās piemiņas tradīcijas transformācijas vikingu laikmetā

Darbā tiek aplūkotas Centrālzviedrijas reģionā, Esterjētlandē, pastāvošās piemiņas tradīciju izpausmes vikingu laikmetā, kuras raksturo, no vienas puses, pirmskristīgajā tradīcijā sakņotie rūnakmeņi, no otras, ar kristietību ienākušies kapakmeņi. Abas pieminekļu grupas Esterjētlandē pastāv līdzās gan vienā laikā, gan vienā telpā, un tām ir gan līdzības, gan atšķirības, kuras ir rodamas to izvēlētā novietojuma, piemiņas teksta, kā arī ornamenta funkcijās un pārnestajās nozīmēs. Šodien šīs Esterjētlandes rūnakmeņu un kapakmeņu iezīmes spēj liecināt par dažādu reģiona sabiedrības grupu reakcijām uz laikmeta norisēm, un transformācijām, kādu piedzīvo ne vien praktizētā piemiņas tradīcija, bet sabiedrības mentalitāte kopumā. The Thesis looks at the expressions in the Central Sweden region of Östergötland during the Viking Age of the practiced commemorative traditions, which, on one hand, are characterized by runestones that stem from the pre-Christian tradition, on the other, gravestones, that get introduced along with Christianity. Both monument groups coexist in Östergötland in one time and space, and they share both similarities and differences, which can be found in the placement, commemorative text and ornament functions and their figurative meanings. Today these characteristics of Östergötland's runestones and gravestones can testify to society's different reactions to the changes of the period, and also the transformations of not only commemorative practices, but society's mentality all together.
