As the number of households affected by natural disasters increases, consumer interest in insuring real estate against damage caused by natural disasters is growing. The process of concluding a real estate insurance contract provides for a certain procedure and requires knowledge in the field of insurance in order to understand the concepts specified in the insurance regulations – real estate, risk of natural disasters, the principle of compensation, selfinsurance and insurance premium. The process of entering into a contract causes confusion regarding the information to be indicated in the insurance application and contradictions between the provisions of the insurance company regulations and the provisions of the Insurance Law, which are analyzed and studied in this work, resulting in conclusion about the need to make additions and amendments to the Insurance Contract Law. Keywords: real estate, insurance, property insurance, insurance contract, damage from natural disasters.
