The topic of the Diploma thesis is the quality of life for a patient with the disease acne vulgaris. The actuality of the topic is determined by the fact that this disease affects up to 80% of the population at some point in their lives. Treatment options for acne vulgaris are very well researched and are indicated for each patient individually, however, we cannot forget about the psycho-emotional impact and how this disease affects the quality of life in general. The aim of the study is to find out and summarize the impact of the disease on the patients' emotional well-being and social integration. The work was based on D. Orema's theory of nursing, which helped to understand how patients with Acne vulgaris can cope with both their disease and their psycho-emotional condition at the same time, without changing the quality of their lives. The hypothesis of the study sets that patients with acne vulgaris have a lower quality of life compared to those without this skin disease, as the effects of physical discomfort, emotional disturbances and social isolation can have a negative impact on their daily life, self-esteem and social relationships. In order to achieve the aim, the following tasks were set - to collect and analyze the theoretical literature, create a research tool - a questionnaire, conduct a questionnaire, analyze and interpret the research results obtained, and draw conclusions. An electronic survey was used in the study, in which 103 respondents with a diagnosis of acne vulgaris took part. During the research work, information was obtained, data were collected about the physical and emotional manifestations of the disease, as well as about the patients' general quality of life. The hypothesis has been partially confirmed. The results of the study can be used to help patients with the diagnosis and take care of their quality of life by developing support programs and educating both patients and their relatives. Key words: acne vulgaris, quality of life, emotional well-being, physical well-being.
