The topic of the bachelor’s thesis - “Level of awareness about radiological examinations among patients in a medical treatment facility in Latvia”. Patient awareness serves as a prerequisite for informed consent, which must be given before any radiological examination, but data from foreign studies show that the level of patient awareness of radiological examinations is generally low. In order to improve the level of patient awareness, it is necessary to start by measuring the current level, which is why the research question of this paper is: are patients sufficiently informed about radiological examinations? Aim of the thesis: to determine the level of patient awareness about radiological examinations. The qualitative research methodology was chosen. Research instrument: questionnaire. After analysing the results of the study, it was concluded that patients are insufficiently informed about radiological examinations. The bachelor’s thesis is 45 pages long and consists of an introduction, 4 chapters, 6 subchapters and conclusions. 84 literature sources are cited.
