Telephone fraud poses significant threats to telecommunications network users, causing both financial loss and emotional stress. The aim of this study was to develop and evaluate a real-time telephone fraud detection and prevention system, based on the principle of phone conversation content analysis, and implemented using artificial intelligence (AI) tools. The study included a literature review on existing methods and an empirical study to select optimal AI tools for system implementation, using a sample data set. A system prototype was developed, integrating the OpenAI Whisper automatic speech recognition (ASR) tool and the Google Gemini 1.5-Pro large language model (LLM) with a specific prompt, to analyze phone conversation content in real-time. The system's effectiveness was evaluated in a simulated environment reflecting real-time conditions, using an expanded dataset with various fraud scenarios and languages. The results indicate that the system demonstrates high classification effectiveness, achieving an accuracy of 90.4% (with a 95% confidence interval from 88.1% to 92.8%) and a 91.2% F1 score (with a 95% confidence interval from 89.4% to 93.0%), indicating the system's efficacy in real-time telephone fraud detection. The prevention index reached 69.8% (with a 95% confidence interval from 67.1% to 72.5%), demonstrating the system's potential in real-time telephone fraud prevention.
