Eitanāzija cilvēka tiesību uz cienīgo nāvi kontekstā

Eitanāzija kā institūts, kura pamatā ir ideja par cienīgās nāves nodrošināšanu galvenokārt nedziedināmi slimām personām, atbrīvojot tās no nepanesamām ciešanām, izraisa diskusijas visā pasaulē. Arī Latvija nav izņēmums. Maģistra darba mērķis ir analizēt eitanāzijas institūtu kā mehānismu cieņpilnas nāves nodrošināšanai no personas privātautonomijas viedokļa. Darbā pētīta personas privātautonomijas izpratne, eitanāzijas institūts un tā problemātika, kā arī pacienta privātautonomijas dzīves nogalē jautājums. Darba rezultātā secināts, ka eitanāzija tās brīvprātīgajā formā ir viens no mehānismiem, ar kura palīdzību var nodrošināt personai tiesības uz cienīgo nāvi, jo tā atzīst personas tiesības dzīves kvalitātes zuduma gadījumā un iestājoties noteiktiem kritērijiem izbeigt savu dzīvi, tādējādi nodrošinot personas gribas respektēšanu dzīves nogalē. Euthanasia as an institute which is based on the idea of providing a dignified death mainly to terminally ill persons, freeing them from unbearable suffering, is causing debate all over the world. Latvia also is not an exception. The aim of the Master's paper is to analyze the institute of euthanasia as a mechanism of ensuring a dignified death from the perspective of a person's private autonomy. The research examines the understanding of a person's private autonomy, euthanasia institute and its problems, as well as the question of the patient's private autonomy at the end of life. As a result of the work, it was concluded that euthanasia in its voluntary form is one of the mechanisms that can ensure a person's right to a dignified death, because it recognizes the person's right to end his life in case of loss of quality and when certain criteria are fulfilled, thus ensuring the respect of the person's will at the end of life.
