Hospiss brīvprātīgo prosociālās rīcības motīvu saistība ar dzīvesspēku un bailēm no nāves

Abstract

Bakalaura darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, kā hospiss brīvprātīgo prosociālās rīcības motīvi ir saistīti ar dzīvesspēku un bailēm no nāves. Tika izvirzīta pētījuma hipotēze: jo augstāks hospiss brīvprātīgo dzīvesspēks, jo zemākas bailes no nāves, kā arī pētījuma jautājumi: kā bailes no nāves saistītas ar brīvprātīgo prosociālās rīcības motīviem, kā dzīvesspēks saistīts ar brīvprātīgo prosociālās rīcības motīviem, kā brīvprātīgo vecums un brīvprātīgā darba ilgums saistīts ar bailēm no nāves. Pētījumā piedalījās 55 „Hospiss LV” brīvprātīgie, kuri aizpildīja Hospiss paliatīvās aprūpes brīvprātīgo motivācijas aptauju (The Inventory of Motivations for Hospice Palliative Care Volunteerism (Claxton-Oldfield et al., 2011)), Dzīvesspēka aptauju pieaugušajiem (Resilience Scale of Adults (Hjemdal et al., 2001)), Nāves trauksmes aptauju (Death Anxiety Questionnaire (Conte, Weiner, & Plutchik, 1982)) un informāciju par vecumu un brīvprātīgā darba ilgumu organizācijā. Pētījuma hipotēze netika apstiprināta. Tika atklāts, ka, jo augstākas bailes no nāves, jo augstāki hospiss brīvprātīgo motivācijas iemesli, kas saistīti ar brīvo laiku un savas pašapziņas celšanu citu acīs. Secināts, ka dzīvesspēks ir pozitīvi saistīts ar hospiss motivācijas iemesliem, kas saistīti ar pilsonisko atbildību. Konstatēta saistība vairākām hospiss brīvprātīgo motivācijām un dzīvesspēka faktoriem. Pētījuma rezultāti neuzrāda saistības bailēm no nāves ar brīvprātīgo vecumu un ilgumu organizācijā. The Bachelor Thesis aimed to investigate how prosocial motivation in hospice volunteers relates to two variables: their resilience and fear of death. The proposed hypothesis: the greater the resilience of volunteers, the lower the variable for fear of death. The main research questions proposed in the research: what is the connection between the fear of death variable and prosocial motivation in hospice volunteers; what is the connection between the resilience variable and prosocial motivation in hospice volunteers?: what is the connection between the age of volunteers, their length of service and fear of death? The research consisted of three surveys - The Inventory of Motivations for Hospice Palliative Care Volunteerism (Claxton-Oldfield et al., 2011), Resilience Scale of Adults (Hjemdal et al., 2001), and Death Anxiety Questionnaire (Conte, Weiner, & Plutchik, 1982). Other person-specific information was collected concerning their age and the length of survey. Overall, 55 volunteers from “Hospiss LV” took part in the research. The proposed hypothesis was rejected. The research showed high results in both: fear of death variable and in prosocial motivation, which, as an example, can be related to leisure and increased self-promotion. To conclude, there is a positive correlation between the resilience and the prosocial motivation in volunteers, that are related to volunteers’ civic responsibility. Moreover, a relationship has been discovered between variables related to prosocial motivations and resilience. The research did not discover any relationship between the fear of death variable and the volunteer age and their length of service.
