The bachelor’s paper’s title is „Designations of the Concept of Time in “Epistulae Morales ad Lucilium” by Seneca”, author Liga Pricina.
This paper consists of two parts, the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part consists of three sections: The first chapter deals with Seneca biography and writings. The second chapter describes features of stoicism philosophy within characteristics of the time concept. With purpose to understand meaning of time notion, the designations of the concept of time lexemes are explored in Seneka’s letters. Research is done theoretically – via explanatory dictionaries.
The practical part consists of one chapter (fourth chapter of paper), divided into two subchapters. This chapter analyses the selected twenty-two letters of Seneca to Lucilius. The first section examines all lexemes that significantly explained the characteristics of the time lexeme concept and the second section deals with only one lexeme - life.
The result of study author came to the conclusion that lexemes are interactive and explanation of them without context may be incorrect.
The objective of bachelor thesis - to explore the designations of the concept of time, highlighting the meaning of them into Seneca’s "Moral letters to Lucilius" - is achieved.
