Daugavas plūdi diskursos 20. gadsimta 20.-70. gados

Abstract

Maģistra darbā “Daugavas plūdi diskursos 20. gadsimta 20.-70. gados” tiek aplūkota Daugavas plūdu vēsturiskā un diskursīvā reprezentācija dažādos laika posmos. Klimata pārmaiņu ietekmē tiek aktualizētas tēmas par dabas stihijām un to, kā tās ietekmē mūsdienu iedzīvotājus. Plūdi un plūdu izraisītās sekas ir viena no šīm tēmām. Taču plūdi nav jauna parādība – ar tiem cilvēki ir sadzīvojuši gadsimtiem ilgi. Ir svarīgi aplūkot plūdu diskursus vides vēstures perspektīvā, lai labāk spētu veikt plūdu pārvaldību un mazinātu iedzīvotāju bailes par plūdu procesiem mūsdienās. Plūdu pētījumi reti tiek veikti ar starpdisciplināru pieeju, it īpaši Latvijas kontekstā, tādēļ maģistra darba galvenais mērķis bija noskaidrot kā dažādi vēsturiskie materiāli atspoguļo Daugavas plūdus 20. gadsimta 20.-70. gados un kā šajos attēlojumos atklājas un tiek veidoti diskursi par plūdu ietekmi, pārvaldību un sabiedrības uztveri, par pamatu izmantojot kritiskā diskursa analīzi, lai salīdzinātu oficiālo, zinātnisko un personisko skatījumu uz plūdiem. Darba rezultāti parāda, ka plūdi ietekmē ne tikai ainavu, bet arī pārvaldības struktūras, kultūru un Daugavas krastu iedzīvotāju sociālās dzīves, atspoguļojot cilvēku attiecības ar ūdeņiem.

The master's thesis “Discourses on the Daugava River Floods (1920s–1970s)” examines how floods of the Daugava River have been represented historically and discursively across different time periods. In the context of climate change, topics related to natural disasters and their impact on contemporary populations have become increasingly relevant. Floods and their consequences are one such topic. However, floods are not a new phenomenon - people have lived alongside them for centuries. It is important to examine flood-related discourses from an environmental history perspective to improve flood management and reduce public anxiety about flooding processes today. Flood research is rarely conducted using an interdisciplinary approach in the context of Latvia. Therefore, the main aim of this thesis was to explore how different historical sources reflect Daugava floods in the 1920s–1970s and how these representations reveal and shape discourses on flood impact, management, and public perception. The study uses critical discourse analysis to compare official, scientific, and personal perspectives on flooding. The results show that floods affect not only landscapes but also governance structures, culture, and the social lives of people living along the Daugava River, reflecting deeper human–water relations.
