Bērni ar ļaundabīgiem audzējiem tiek pakļauti dažādām ārstēšanas metodēm, tostarp ķīmijterapijai, staru terapijai un antibiotiku lietošanai, kas var izraisīt imūnsupresiju, zarnu un mutes mikrobioma kompozīcijas izmaiņas un paaugstinātu patogēno baktēriju klātbūtni.
