Politiskā pārstāvniecība un dzimumu līdztiesība: sieviešu pieredze Latvijas politikā

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs “Politiskā pārstāvniecība un dzimumu līdztiesība: sieviešu pieredze Latvijas politikā” tika izstrādāts, jo mūsdienu sabiedrībā novērojama virzība uz un vēlme sasniegt vienlīdzību, taču dati parāda, ka sieviešu pārstāvniecība politikā nav pietiekama, kā rezultātā sieviešu intereses netiek pietiekami pārstāvētas. Darba mērķis ir analizēt sieviešu pieredzi politikā Latvija, identificējot galvenos izaicinājumus un iespējas kas veicina vai kavē vēlmi un iespēju iesaistīties politikas sfērā, papildus tam, arī izpētīt, vai Latvijas rīcībpolitika ir veiksmīga sieviešu īpatsvara palielināšanā attiecīgajā jomā. Darba gaitā tika noskaidrots, ka sievietes Latvijā vēljoprojām sastopas ar izaicinājumiem saistībā ar dzimumu līdztiesību, īpaši saistībā ar negatīvo stereotipu piemērošanu.

The bachelor thesis “Political representation and gender equality: women's journeys in Latvian politics” was developed because in today's society there is a movement towards and desire to achieve equality, but data shows that women are still under-represented in politics, resulting in women's interests being under-represented. The aim of this paper is to analyse the experience of women in politics in Latvia, identifying the main challenges and opportunities that promote or hinder the desire and opportunity to engage in the political sphere, and additionally exploring whether Latvian policies are successful in increasing the proportion of women in the field. The work has shown that women in Latvia still face challenges in relation to gender equality, especially in relation to the application of negative stereotypes.
