Militāro tēriņu ietekme uz ekonomisko attīstību

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā analizēta militāro tēriņu ietekme uz ekonomisko attīstību 30 valstīs (ES dalībvalstis, Lielbritānija, Norvēģija un ASV) laika periodā no 1990. gada līdz 2023. gadam. Pētījumā tiek veikta gan militāro tēriņu kopējās ietekmes, gan militārās industrijas iesaistes novērtēšana uz trīs atkarīgajiem mainīgajiem – IKP uz iedzīvotāju, mājsaimniecību galapatēriņa un ārvalstu tiešo investīciju izaugsme. Darbā izmantoti GMM paneļdatu modeļi STATA programmā, pielietojot neatkarīgo mainīgo laika nobīdes. Rezultāti liecina, ka militāro tēriņu paaugstināšanai ir pozitīva ietekme uz IKP izaugsmi, kas pastiprinās laika gaitā, bet mājsaimniecību patēriņš un ārvalstu investīcijas pieaug īstermiņā. Militārā industrija pozitīvi ietekmē IKP izaugsmi, taču mājsaimniecību patēriņu īstermiņā paaugstina gan ieroču imports, gan eksports.

The bachelor's thesis analyzes the impact of military spending on economic development in 30 countries (EU member states, Great Britain, Norway, and the USA) over the period from 1990 to 2023. The study assesses the overall impact of both military spending and the involvement of the military industry on three dependent variables – GDP per capita, household final consumption and foreign direct investment growth. Author uses GMM panel data models in the STATA program, applying time lags to the independent variables. The results - increasing military spending has a positive impact on GDP growth, which increases over time, while household consumption and foreign investment increase in the short run. The military industry has a positive impact on GDP growth, but household consumption is increased in the short run by both arms imports and exports.
