Abstract

Bakalaura darbā "Donalda Trampa rāmējums medijos: "Delfi", "CNN", "The Guardian" 05.11.2024. – 20.01.2025." analizēts, kā atšķirīgi mediji veido Donalda Trampa rāmējumu prezidenta vēlēšanu un pārejas periodā. Darba mērķis ir analizēt Donalda Trampa rāmējumu mediju "Delfi", "CNN" un "The Guardian" publikācijās, izmantojot kvantitatīvo un kvalitatīvo satura analīzi, kā arī salīdzinošo metodi, lai identificētu atšķirības un līdzības šo trīs mediju ietvaros. Teorētiskā bāze balstās uz rāmēšanas (Entman, Scheufele, Chong & Druckman), kultivācijas (Gerbner), politiskās komunikācijas, mediju ietekmes, vārtsargu teorijas un mediju ideoloģijas (Curran, Shoemaker & Reese, Hanitzsch & Vos) pieejām, kā arī izmantota Stīvena Karpmana drāmas trīsstūra teorija, lai analizētu politiskā tēla emocionālo un naratīvo struktūru. Darba metodoloģija balstās uz kvantitatīvajā satura analīzē kodētām 282 publikācijām (katram medijam 94) un kvalitatīvajā satura analīzē - 10 publikācijām katrā no trim medijiem. Rezultāti liecina, ka Donalda Trampa rāmējums medijos būtiski atšķiras: "Delfi" saglabā relatīvu līdzsvaru ar neitrālu toni un piesardzīgu pozīciju; "CNN" akcentē konfliktu, Donaldu Trampu bieži rādot kā pāridarītāju; savukārt "The Guardian" veido konsekventi kritisku rāmējumu, Trampu attēlojot kā demokrātijas apdraudējumu.

The bachelor’s thesis "The Framing of Donald Trump in the Media: "Delfi", "CNN", "The Guardian" 05.11.2024.-20.01.2025" analyses how different media outlets construct the framing of Donald Trump during the presidential election and transition period. The aim of the research is to analyse the framing of Donald Trump in the media "Delfi", "CNN" and "The Guardian", using quantitative and qualitative content analysis as well as comparative methodology to identify differences and similarities across the three outlets. The theoretical framework combines approaches from framing theory (Entman, Scheufele, Chong & Druckman), cultivation theory (Gerbner), political communication, media influence, gatekeeping and media ideology (Curran, Shoemaker & Reese, Hanitzsch & Vos), and also includes Stephen Karpman’s drama triangle to explore the emotional and narrative structure of the political persona. The methodological design is based on the quantitative coding of 282 articles (94 per outlet) and the qualitative analysis of 10 articles from each of the three media sources. The results indicate significant differences in the framing of Donald Trump: "Delfi" maintains a relatively balanced approach with a neutral tone and cautious positioning; "CNN" emphasizes conflict, frequently portraying Trump as a perpetrator; whereas "The Guardian" presents a consistently critical frame, depicting Trump as a threat to democracy.
