Dzimumu līdztiesība Latvijas Nacionālajos bruņotajos spēkos: attīstība, izaicinājumi un sociālais raksturojums

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā analizēta dzimumu līdztiesības īstenošana Latvijas Nacionālajos bruņotajos spēkos, pievēršot uzmanību tās attīstībai, normatīvā regulējuma piemērošanai un sabiedrības attieksmei. Pētījuma mērķis ir izprast, kā dzimumu vienlīdzība tiek realizēta militārajā vidē un kādi izaicinājumi kavē sieviešu pilnvērtīgu iesaisti, īpaši Valsts aizsardzības dienestā. Darba ietvaros izmantotas salīdzinošā un induktīvā metode, kā arī analizēti normatīvie akti un citi dokumenti. Bakalaura darbs atklāj neatbilstību starp likumu normām un faktiskajām iespējām, identificē iespējamās barjeras un sniedz priekšlikumus politikas un vides pilnveidei dzimumu līdztiesības nodrošināšanā militārajā sektorā. Darba rezultātā secināts, ka Latvijas Valsts aizsardzības dienesta brīvprātīgais formāts sievietēm, kaut šķiet progresīvs, patiesībā saglabā dzimumu nevienlīdzības elementus. Papildus pētījumā secināms, ka nepieciešams pārskatīt valsts aizsardzības politiku, lai tā patiesi atspoguļotu dzimumu līdztiesības principus.

The Bachelor thesis analyses the implementation of gender equality in the Latvian National Armed Forces, focusing on its development, the application of the regulatory framework and public perception. The aim of the research is to understand how gender equality is practised in the military environment and what challenges hinder the full involvement of women, especially in the mandatory State Defence Service. The study uses comparative and inductive methods and analyses legislation and other documentation. The bachelor thesis reveals the discrepancy between the legal norms and actual possibilities, identifies possible barriers and provides proposals for improvement of the policy and environment for gender equality in the military sector in Latvia. The paper concludes that the voluntary format of the State Defence Service for women, while appearing progressive, in fact retains elements of gender inequality. In addition, it concludes that there is a need to revise the national defence policy to ensure that it truly reflects the principles of gender equality.
