Uzņēmumu līmeņa kopējo faktoru produktivitāti noteicošo faktoru novērtējums Baltijas valstīs”

Abstract

Maģistra darba mērķis ir novērtēt kopējo faktoru produktivitātes elastības Baltijas valstu mērogā un izrietošo vērtību heterogenitāti starp šīm valstīm, sasaistot to ar uzņēmumu līmeņa finansiālajiem rādītājiem un raksturlielumiem izmantojot lineārās regresijas metodes. Darbā tiek izmantota ORBIS mikrodatu uzņēmumu izlase laika periodā no 2015. līdz 2023. gadam, ietverot uzņēmumus ar vismaz vidēji 10 darbiniekiem gadā perioda laikā, kopā sastādot 14 847 unikālus uzņēmumus sašaurinātajā izlasē. Esošajā brīdī, maģistra darbs ir starp pirmajiem mēģinājumiem ar ORBIS mikrodatiem vienlaicīgi analizēt visas trīs Baltijas valstis. Pētījumā tiek konstatēts ka starp Baltijas valstīm pastāv strukturālas atšķirības kopējā faktoru produktivitātē un ka šīs atšķirības nevar izskaidrot atšķirības uzņēmumu raksturlielumos starp valstīm, liecinot ka to pamatā varētu būt nenovērotie institucionālie faktori.

The aim of the master’s thesis is to assess total factor productivity elasticities within the Baltic states and the resulting heterogeneity of values between the these countries by linking it to firm-level financial indicators and characteristics using linear regression methods. The study uses a microdata sample of firms from ORBIS over the period 2015–2023, including firms with at least an avearge of 10 employees per year over the period, amounting to 14,847 unique firms in the restricted sample. Concurrently, the master’s thesis is among the first of attempts at simultaneously using ORBIS microdata for analysis of all three Baltic countries. The research finds that there are structural differences in total factor productivity across the Baltic States that cannot be explained by differences in firm characteristics between the countries, indicating that cross-country differences could be related to unobserved institutional factors.
