Ticības pieredze un garīgās vajadzības bērniem ar autismu un intelektuālās attīstības traucējumiem

Abstract

Bērniem ar attīstības traucējumiem bieži ir maz iespēju iesaistīties draudzes dzīvē, un sabiedrībā pastāv pat uzskats, ka viņiem nav “augstāka līmeņa” vajadzību. Šajā darbā pētīta bērnu ar autismu un intelektuālās attīstības traucējumiem ticība un garīgās vajadzības. Izmantota līdzdarbošanās pieeja (participatory action research), ar kvalitatīvās pētniecības metodēm (sarunas, novērojumi, bērnu radošās darbošanās produkti, teoloģiska refleksija) sekojot līdzi bērnu dalībai iekļaujošā svētdienas skolā un draudzē. Pētījumā atklājas bērnu ticības dažādība un vajadzība veidot attiecības ar Dievu. Pusaudžiem ticības jautājumi mēdz aktualizēties, sastopoties ar nāvi. Kā īpaši svarīga tēma parādās abpusējas kalpošanas attiecības ar draudzi.

Children with developmental disabilities often have limited opportunities to participate in church life, and there is even a prevailing belief in society that they do not have “higher-level” needs. The study “Faith Experience and Spiritual Needs of Children with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities” employs a participatory action research approach. Using qualitative research methods (interviews, observations, children’s creative work, theological reflection), the study explores the faith and spiritual needs of children with autism and intellectual disabilities, following their participation in an inclusive Sunday school and church community. The research reveals the diversity of the children’s faith and their need to form a relationship with God. For adolescents, questions of faith often become more pressing when faced with death. A particularly significant theme that emerges is the importance of reciprocal service relationships within the church.
