Latgales pilsētu pārvalde no 1944. līdz 1949.gadam: Rēzeknes pilsētas izpildkomitejas darbības piemērs

Abstract

Maģistra darba tēmā “Latgales pilsētu pārvalde no 1944. līdz 1949. gadam: Rēzeknes pilsētas izpildkomitejas darbības piemērs” tiek analizēta padomju varas nostiprināšanās Latgalē pēc Otrā pasaules kara. Darba mērķis ir konstatēt Latgales pilsētu pārvaldes īpatnības otrreizējās padomju okupācijas apstākļos pirmajos pēckara gados, īpaši koncentrējoties uz Rēzeknes pilsētas izpildkomitejas darbību un tās ietekmi padomju varas nostiprināšanā. Izpildkomiteja ataino centienus atjaunot izpostīto pilsētu, īstenojot padomju varas mērķus. Secināts, ka Rēzeknes pilsētas izpildkomiteja saskārās gan ar Latgales reģionam specifiskām, gan Latvijas PSR kopumā raksturīgajām problēmām, trūkumiem un izaicinājumiem.

The master’s thesis titled “Administration of Latgale Cities in 1944 – 1949: The Example of the Executive Committee of the City of Rezekne” analyses the consolidation of Soviet power in Latgale following World War II. The aim of the study is to identify the specific features of urban governance in Latgale during the early years of the second Soviet occupation, with a particular focus on the activities of the Rezekne City Executive Committee and its role in strengthening Soviet authority. The Executive Committee exemplifies efforts to rebuild the devastated city while implementing the objectives of the Soviet regimen. The study concludes that the Rezekne City Executive Committee faced both challenges unique to the Latgale region and problems characteristic of the Latvian SSR as a whole, including various shortcomings and obstacles.
