Latviešu leģionāri Zedelgemas gūstekņu nometnē (1945-1946)

Abstract

Latviešu leģionāru darbības vēsture ir plaša un sarežģīta. Bakalaura darbā būs apskatīts, kāds bija latviešu leģionāru stāvoklis pēc Otrā pasaules kara. Pēc kara daudzi no viņiem nonāca Rietumu sabiedroto gūstā. Īpaši tiks izcelta Zedelgeimas karagūstekņu nometne Beļģijā, kur bija visvairāk latviešu leģionāru. Ar šīs nometnes piemēra izpēti, tiks parādīts latviešu leģionāru gūsts pie Rietumu sabiedrotajiem.Bakalaura darbā ir apskatīta vispārēja informācija par latviešu leģionu un gūstu pie Rietumu sabiedrotajiem, kā arī sīkāk pētīta Zedelgeimas karagūstekņu nometne, apskatot tur internēto latviešu leģionāru ikdienu un pārbaudījumus.

The history of the Latvian Legionnaires is vast and complex. The bachelor thesis will look at the situation of Latvian Legionnaires after the Second World War. After the war, many of them were taken prisoner by the Western Allies. In particular, the Zedelheim prisoner of war camp in Belgium, where the largest number of Latvian Legionnaires were held, will be highlighted. Through a case study of this camp, the captivity of Latvian Legionnaires by the Western Allies will be presented.The bachelor thesis provides general information about the Latvian Legion and captivity by the Western Allies, as well as a detailed study of the Zedelheim POW camp, looking at the daily life and trials of the Latvian Legionnaires interned there.
