Kultūras identitāte Romas Impērijas laika grieķu tekstos: Lūkiāna prozas liecības

Abstract

Maģistra darba “Kultūras identitāte Romas Impērijas laika grieķu tekstos: Lūkiāna prozas liecības” mērķis ir izpētīt, ar kādu teksta elementu un paņēmienu palīdzību tiek konstruēta kultūras identitāte Lūkiāna darbos, vērtējot Lūkiāna prozu kā migrācijas literatūru. Teorētiskā daļa apskata kultūras identitātes jēdzienu un tā nozīmi migrācijas literatūrā. Ieskicēts ir Lūkiāna dzīves laika vēsturiskais konteksts, apskatot globalizācijas un migrācijas procesus, un kultūras identitāti Romas Impērijā. Iezīmēta arī Lūkiāna prozas žanru specifika. Praktiskā daļa veltīta četru Lūkiāna tekstu, Par kompanjonu algošanu, Apoloģija, Nigrīna filosofija un Par sīriešu dievieti analīzei, pētot, kā kultūra identitāte tiek konstruētas ar tēlu, vēstījumu un motīvu izmantojumu. Pētījuma rezultātā pierādīts, ka kultūras identitāte tiek konstruēta, izmantojot dažādu teksta elementu kombināciju. Tiek secināts, ka kultūras identitāte Lūkiāna daiļradē nav stingri noteikta, bet ir hibrīda un mainīga.

The objective of the master thesis " Cultural Identity in Greek Texts of the Roman Empire: the Prose of Lucian" is to examine the textual elements and techniques used to construct cultural identity in Lucian's works, by viewing Lucian's prose as a migration literature. The theoretical part explores the notion of cultural identity and its significance in migration literature. The historical context of Lucian's lifetime is outlined, looking at processes of globalisation and migration, and cultural identity in the Roman Empire. The characteristics of genre of Lucian's prose are also outlined. The practical part is dedicated to the analysis of four texts by Lucian, On Salaried Posts, Apology, The Wisdom of Nigrinus and On the Syrian Goddess exploring how cultural identity is constructed through the use of characters, narratives and motifs. The results of the study show that cultural identity is constructed through a combination of different textual elements. It is concluded that cultural identity in Lucian's work is not fixed but hybrid and fluid.
