Abstract
Garīdznieku celibātam Romas Katoļu baznīcā ir bijusi gara priekšvēsture.
Celibāta iezīmes mēs varam saskatīt jau agrīnajās kristiešu kopienās.
Ar laiku celibāts, kurš agrāk bija tikai kā viens no askēzes veidiem, vēlāk kļuva par spēcīgu ”instrumentu” baznīcas vadītāju rokās, ar kura palīdzību tie varēja īstenot sev izdevīgu politiku.
Līdz pat mūsdienām celibāts pastāv Romas Katoļu baznīcā kā viens no priekšnoteikumiem, lai varētu saņemt Priesterības sakramentu
Mans bakalaura darba mērķis ir noskaidrot kādos vēsturiskos apstākļos ir attīstījies celibāts un vai celibāts iederas mūsdienu sabiedrībā.

Clergy celibacy The Roman Catholic Church has been a long history. Celibacy features we can already see in the early Cristian Communities. With celibacy, which was previously only known as one of the type of the ascetic, later it became as a powerful "instrument"in the hands of the church leaders, with the help of which they could implement a self-win policy. Until today, the celibacy is the Roman Catholic Church as one the prerequisites to be able receive the Sacrament of Priesthood. My Bachelor's work aim is to clarifing the conditions how the celibacy have developed in historical circumstances and whether celibacy fits into modern society.
