Jaunajā Derībā ir atrodami teksti, kurus mūsdienu cilvēkam ir grūtības saprast un pareizi pielietot. Pētījumā izvēlētā perikope 1. Kor 5: 1 – 5 ir viens no tiem Bībeles tekstiem, kuru varētu pārprast. Šīs perikopes analīze sniegtu iespēju pareizi pielietot vienu no Jaunajā Derībā sastopamajiem disciplinārajiem tekstiem – ne ar bezatbildīgu vieglprātību, ne ar tirānisku režīmu, bet gan ar sapratni un komunikāciju.
Pētījuma mērķis ir izprast Pāvila rakstīto tekstu un atrast tā pielietojumu mūsdienās. Pētījumā ietverti priekšstati par cilvēku nodošanu ļaunajiem spēkiem un aizliegtām seksuālajām attiecībām, kas aptver divus lielākos perikopes problēmjautājumus – kādas ir dēlas attiecības ar tēva sievu un ko nozīmē nodošana sātanam?

It is possible to find some texts in the New Testament that are difficult to understand and to use in modern world’ s everyday life. 1 Cor 5: 1 – 5 is one of those texts that are easy to misunderstand. The analysis of this particular text fragment would give an oppurtunity to use one of the New Testament’s disciplinary texts – not with irresponsible carelessness or tyranic regime, but with understanting and communication.
The goal of this analysis lies within understanding what Paul wrote and finding it’ s way into the modern world. This research includes concepts of handing someone over to the evil supernatural beings and forbidden sexual relationships. These themes embraces two main questions of this analysis – what kind of relationship is between son and his father’ s wife and what does handing someone over to satan means?
