Šī bakalaura darba nosaukums ir ,, Mūža ieslodzījums Latvijā un ārvalstīs ”. Darba mērķis ir rūpīgi izanalizēt Krimināllikumā minētā mūža ieslodzījuma jēdzienu, analizēt, salīdzināt ar mūža ieslodzījumiem citu valstu praksē, iepazīstoties ar citu valstu mūža ieslodzījumu problemātiku, pozitīvajām iezīmēm, rast jaunus priekšlikumus attiecībā uz mūža ieslodzījumu.
Sods ir piemērojams par ļoti nežēlīgiem un smagiem noziegumiem, bet autoresprāt, sods ir adekvāti bargs izdarītajam. Autore piekrīt Krimināllikumam un uzskata, ka šis soda mērs ir nepieciešams, jo spēj atjaunot taisnīgumu un aizsargāt sabiedrības intereses.
Rakstot šo darbu, autore secina, ka šis kriminālsoda mērs ietver arī zināmu problemātiku, vairāk tā ir psiholoģiskā problemātika, kura skar ieslodzīto. Autore darbā veica savstarpēju salīdzinājumu starp mūža ieslodzījumu un nāves sodu. Lai gan mūža ieslodzījums sevī ietver problemātiskus aspektus, bet kā soda veids, tas ir daudz humānāks salīdzinoši ar nāves sodu, jo saglabā vissvarīgāko – dzīvību un Krimināllikumā paredz arī pirmstermiņa atbrīvošanas iespēju, autorei šķita interesanti iepazīties ar citu valstu normatīvajos tiesību aktos atšķirīgo pirmstermiņa atbrīvošanas iespējas regulējumu. Darbā izmantoti dažādi literatūras avoti, tiesu materiāli un likumi, kopumā tie ir 61 avots.
Darbs sastāv no 55 lappusēm ar vienu tabulu.

The objective is to carefully analyze the nature of life imprisonment mentioned in the Criminal Law, analyze, compare to life imprisonment in other countries practices by exploring the problems and positive signs of life imprisonment in other foreign countries.
The author comes to the conclusion by agreeing to Criminal Law, that this punishment is necessary because it can restore justice and protect the interest of public.
The sentence is applied for very cruel and serious crimes, but the author’s opinion is that the harshness of the penalty is adequate to the crime. By writing this work, the author concludes that this criminal penalty also includes problems – these are more psychological problems that affect the inmate. The author carried out a cross-comparison between life imprisonment and death penalty.
While the life imprisonment includes problematic aspects, but as a form of punishment, it is much more humane in comparison with the death penalty since it preserves the most important – the human life and Criminal Law also provides for the possibility of early parole.
The author has used various sources of literature, law and court materials, in all there are 61.
The work consists of 55 pages with one chart.
