Darbā tiek apskatīts viens no mūsdienu apspriestākajiem un problemātiskajiem sodu veidiem- mūža ieslodzījums. Šā soda veida funkcijas, ietekme uz mūža ieslodzītajām personām, izpilde dažādās valstīs. Kā arī problēmjautājumi, kas ir saistāmi ar ieslodzījuma vietu un iespēju uz mūža ieslodzītiem noteikti pirmstermiņa atbrīvoties no soda izciešanas.

It's functionality and influence on condenments, as well as differences in the execution of sentence in different countries have been studied too. Moreover, some specific questions related to prisoners' place of jailing and grant of parole opportunities are treated in this work.
