Autors, pamatojoties uz vairāku Starptautisko Cilvēktiesību tiesu praksi, analizē tiesības uz personvārdu, ka daļu no tiesībām uz privāto dzīvi. Darbā tiek analizēta Eiropas Cilvēktiesību tiesas doktrīnas attīstība kopš lēmuma Burghartz lietā. Darbā arī tiek analizēti iespējamie cilvēktiesību aizskārumi, kuri skar tādus jautājumus kā civilreģistra ieraksti, vārda un uzvārda izmaiņa, ģimenes vārda izvēle un vecāku tiesības izvēlēties bērnam vārdu. The author analyzes the right to a name, as a part of the right to private life, using the decisions of The European Court of Human Rights as a basis for the analyze. The investigation evaluates the development of the European Court of human rights decisions after the Burghartz case. The investigation also deals with the possible interferences which apply to this question such as the entries in the civil register, the changes of name and surname, the selection of a family name and the rights of the parents to name their children.
