Atslēgas vārdi: dialekts, izloksne, latgaliešu rakstu valoda, dialektālā leksika, autobiogrāfisks romāns The bachelor’s paper is dedicated to the selection of the dialectal lexicography and the lexicographical analysis in the autobiographical novel “Muna dzeive” (Part I) by Ontons Dzeņs, simultaneously dealing with the question on the comprehension of the concept “dialectal” in the Latvian linguistics. The novel has been written in the Latgalian written language using particular features that are characteristic of the Vārkavas subdialect. The author’s vocabulary has been compared to the data of orthography dictionaries and collections of the data on the subdialect. The theoretical basis has been formed by the works of the linguists (E. Kagaine, B. Bušmane, A. Reķēna, etc.) in the dialectal lexicography. The novel comprises many ethnographic cultural words characteristic of the whole Latgale and the descriptions of traditions, therefore it is valuable also as a reflector of the cultural outlook of Latgale (the end of the 19th century – the 1st half of the 20th century). It is possible to use the conclusions of the bachelor’s paper in the further researches on the history of the Latvian written language; the data of the dictionary have been envisaged to be included in the more extensive collection of the Latgalian vocabulary.
Key words: a dialect, a subdialect, the Latgalian written language, dialectal lexicography, an autobiographical novel
