Maģistra darba „Sieviešu dzimuma rādītāji publicistikā” mērķis ir sistematizēt
sieviešu nosaukumu lietojumu latviešu valodā, balstoties uz to dzimtes izpausmes veidu.
Secināts, ka dzimtes izteikšanas līdzekļi var būt gramatiski (galotnes kā dzimšu formu
rādītāji), derivatīvi (galotnes kā vārddarināšanas līdzeklis, īpašas izskaņas) un leksiski
(īpašas leksēmas, vārdkopas). Gramatiski rādītāji vērojami jebkurā vārdā, arī tādā, kura
dzimte jau izteikta leksiski.
The purpose of master thesis “Indicators of Female Sex in Journalism” is to
systemize titles of female gender based on aspects of expression for their gender. This
research studies tools, which state the meaning of gender, concluding that these tools might
be both grammatical (endings), derivative (endings, suffixes together with endings), and
lexical indicators (special lexemes, collocation). Grammatical indicators are common in
every name/title, even in those, where gender has already been stated lexically. In case of
problems, grammatical issues of aspects can be recognized for example, in titles of
professions, which have only one gender – that prohibit use of other gender (mērs ‘mayor’,
vecmāte ‘midwife’) or in usage of common gender nouns (pļāpa ‘babbler’). Lexical
indicators are infrequent, for example, in tiles of relation (māte ‘mother’), titles of gender
(sieviete ‘women’), and in cases of different transposition, for example, titles of female
gender used together with suffix + ending which accords to male gender (sievišķis ‘jane’).
Keywords: gender, grammatical gender indicators, lexical gender indicators,
derivative gender indicators, nouns of common gender, transposition of gender markers.
