Abstract

Darbs „Latviešu un lietuviešu datorterminoloģija Windows vidē“ veltīts latviešu un lietuviešu datorterminoloģijas salīdzināšanai. Tās lokalizācija latviešu un lietuviešu valodā mūsdienās ir ne vien aktuāla, bet arī problemātiska ― nepārtraukti jārod apzīmējumi jaunām parādībām datorterminoloģijas nozarē, jāsaskaras ar nekonsekvenci angļu terminoloģijā terminu darināšanā ― tas apgrūtina veiksmīgu datorterminoloģijas lokalizāciju. Work „Latvian and Lithuanian Computer Terminology in Windows Environment” is devoted to comparison of Latvian and Lithuanian computer-terminology. The localization of this terminology in Latvian and Lithuanian is not only topical, but also problematic ― on an ongoing basis you must find designations for new phenomena in the branch of the computer-terminology, you have to face the inconsequence of the term formation in the English terminology ― these things make successful localization difficult. Researching the features of computer-terminology in the Latvian terminology, the similarity of the situation gives a chance to make a parallel comparison with the Lithuanian terminology. The similar tendencies are observed both in Latvian and in Lithuanian computer-terminology, defined largely by the fact, that the computer-terminology in both languages is localized from English, whose influence is strong and as often as not negative.
