Anna Bērzkalne sarakstē ar Oskaru Loritsu

Abstract

Maģistra darba pamatā ir latviešu folkloristes Annas Bērzkalnes (1891–1956) un igauņu folklorista Oskara Loritsa (Oskar Loorits, 1900–1961) sarakstes analīze. Pētījuma avots ir 334 folkloristu sarakstes vienības (galvenokārt vēstules un pastkartes), kas rakstītas laikā no 1923. līdz 1943. gadam vācu, krievu, angļu, latviešu un igauņu valodā. Annas Bērzkalnes un Oskara Loritsa sarakste uzlūkota gan kā zinātnieku dzīves liecība, gan kā folkloristikas vēstures parādība (īpaši vēsturiski ģeogrāfiskās metodes pielietojuma un starptautiskās folkloristikas kontekstā). Darbā analizēti folkloristu korespondences ieradumi un motivācija, Annas Bērzkalnes vēstuļu tekstveides principi un to saturs. Vēstuļu satura analīzes centrā ir trejāda Annas Bērzkalnes profesionālā identitāte, kas radusi atspoguļojumu viņas epistolārajos sacerējumos, – Anna Bērzkalne kā Latviešu folkloras krātuves vadītāja, kā tautasdziesmu pētniece un kā latviešu valodas skolotāja.

The master’s paper presents an analysis of the correspondence between the Latvian folklorist Anna Bērzkalne (1891–1956) and the Estonian folklorist Oskar Loorits (1900–1961). The source of the study is a valuable collection of 334 letters, written in German, Russian, English, Latvian and Estonian between 1923 and 1943. The letters of the two folklorists should be regarded as the testimonies of their private and professional biographies as well as a part of the disciplinary history (especially in the context of international folkloristics and practice of the historical-geographical method). The author of the paper has explored such issues as the habits and stimulus of the epistolary contacts, the textual structure and contents of Anna Bērzkalne’s letters. Anna Bērzkalne’s letters to Oskar Loorits distinctly reflect her three professional identities – the head of the Archives of Latvian Folklore, a researcher of the Latvian folk songs and a teacher of the Latvian language.
