Abstract
Veģetācijas sukcesija pēc pelēko kāpu apsaimniekošanas. Ilze Barone, 2021, bakalaura darbs.
Vegetation succession after grey dune management. Ilze Barone, 2020, bachelor thesis The aim of the study was to evaluate the vegetation succession after the removal of trees in the grey dunes of Užava Nature Reserve. A total of 150 permanent plots (circular, radius – 1,5 m) were surveyed in 2020, determining the cover of structures, plant and lichen species. Data collected before and after management were compared to assess vegetation changes over a seven-year period. The results show that the cover of herbaceous species characteristic of grey dunes and bare sand patches has increased, but cover of wooded dune species and litter has decreased, which indicates an improvement in the quality of grey dunes. Proposals are given to assess the efficiency of the grey dune management. Keywords: grey dune, succession, coastal habitat management.
