Abstract
Bakalaura darbs “Bezdarbs Latvijā: reģionālās atšķirības un to dinamika” analizē bezdarba līmeņa teritoriālo sadalījumu Latvijā, pievēršot uzmanību reģionālajām atšķirībām un to izmaiņām laika gaitā.
The bachelor's thesis "Unemployment in Latvia: Regional Differences and Their Dynamics" analyses the territorial distribution of the unemployment rate in Latvia, paying attention to regional differences and their changes over time. The relevance of the study is determined by the impact of the unemployment problem on the country's economic development, social stability and sustainability of regions. Regional differences in unemployment are an important topic in the field of economics and sociology, reflecting the inequality of the labour market in various geographical areas. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to determine and assess the causes of unemployment and their dynamics in the regions of Latvia in a specific time, the types of unemployment and its consequences in Latvia, paying special attention to the differences in unemployment in the regions of Latvia. As well as to calculate whether there is a correlation in a specific time between the number of residents and the unemployed in the regions of Latvia, and to develop proposals to reduce regional differences in the country. The results obtained in the course of the work confirm that unemployment differences between the regions of Latvia persists and have not changed over the years. It can be concluded that the level of regional unemployment significantly affects the effectiveness of regional development policy and the need for specific support measures in less developed regions.
