Lietvārdu kolokāciju lietojums ziņu portāla BBC News Online rakstos par koronavīrusu

Abstract

Masu mediju loma Covid-19 atspoguļošanā ir nenoliedzama. Pētījuma mērķis, pielietojot kvantitatīvās un kvalitatīvās metodes, ir izpētīt lietvārdu kolokāciju lietojumu ziņu portāla BBC News Online rakstos par koronavīrusu. Viens no galvenajiem pētījuma atklājumiem ir tāds, ka lietvārds koronavīruss medijos tiek atainots kā ienaidnieks – karadarbības kontekstā. Tāpat viens no pētījuma novērojumiem un tendencēm ir, ka īpašības vārds pozitīvs caur kolokācijām ieguvis negatīvu pieskaņu. Ar koronavīrusu saistītais vārdu krājums ir ļoti specifisks, jo mediju diskursā parādās vārdi un vārdu savienojumi, kas sen jau nav lietoti, arī tādi kuri agrāk lietoti specifiskos diskursos vai pavisam citā kontekstā. Pandēmijai turpinoties, ir jāveic turpmāki pētījumi.

The role of the media is undeniable in the response to Covid-19. The goal of the thesis is to investigate the use of collocates of nouns identified in the articles about coronavirus on the news website BBC News Online. The results have been obtained by applying the quantitative and qualitative methods. One of the major findings is that a noun coronavirus has been illustrated as an enemy; accordingly, is used in the context of war. Adjective positive have gained negative connotation. A vocabulary related to coronavirus is very specific because words and word combinations emerge which formerly have been used by specific communities of discourse, have not been used for ages, or have been used in another context. As pandemic continues, future research should be conducted.
