Vecāku audzināšanas pieeju saistība ar viņu uztverto audzināšanas stilu bērnībā

Abstract

Maģistra darba pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt vecāku, kuru bērni ir vecumā no 6 līdz 18 gadiem, audzināšanas pieeju saistību ar viņu uztverto audzināšanas stilu bērnībā un kā šie mainīgie ir saistīti ar demogrāfiskajiem rādītājiem. Pētījuma izlasi veidoja 73 respondenti, kuri ir vecāki vismaz vienam 6 līdz 18 gadus vecam bērnam. Respondenti bija vecumā no 29 līdz 64 gadiem: sievietes 57 (78%), vīrieši 16 (22%) un vidējais vecums M=43,5. Pētījumā tika izmantotas divas metodes un demogrāfisko datu aptauja. Vecāki aizpildīja Alabamas audzināšanas aptauja (The Alabama Parenting Questionnaire (APQ), (Clerkin, Marks, Policaro & Halperin, 2007). Adaptāciju latviešu valodā veikusi 2006. gadā L. Kalniņa maģistra darba ietvaros (Kalniņa, 2006). Vecāku audzināšanas stilu mērījumiem tika izmantota Vecāku audzināšanas stila aptauja (Parental Authority Questionnaire – PAQ, Buri,1991). Latvijā aptauju adaptējusi L. Dāldere sava maģistra darbā, 2002. Pētījuma rezultāti neuzrāda statistiski nozīmīgu saistību starp vecāku audzināšanas pieejām un viņu uztvertajiem audzināšanas stiliem bērnībā, taču atklāj saistību starp audzināšanas pieeju, bērnībā uztvertajiem audzināšanas stiliem un demogrāfiskajiem rādītājiem. Šāda audzināšanas pieeja un principi, ko izvēlas vecāki, var nebūt tieši saistīti ar to, kā bērni atceras un uztver savu audzināšanas pieredzi no bērnības, tomēr tie var būt viens no daudziem faktoriem, kas ietekmē bērnu uztverto audzināšanas stilu. Demogrāfiskie rādītāji, tostarp sociālekonomiskie un kultūras aspekti, spēlē būtisku lomu vecāku audzināšanas praksē.

The aim of the master's thesis research was to investigate the relationship between parenting approaches of parents with children aged 6 to 18 years and their perceived parenting style in childhood and how these variables are related to demographic indicators. The research sample consists of 73 respondents who are parents of at least one 6 to 18 years old child. The respondents were aged between 29 and 64 years of age: 57 women (78%), 16 men (22%) and the average age M=43.5. The research used two methods and a demographic survey. The parents filled out the Alabama Parenting Questionnaire (APQ), (Clerkin, Marks, Policaro & Halperin, 2007). Adapted into Latvian language in 2006 as part of L. Kalniņa's master's thesis (Kalniņa, 2006). For parenting approaches of parent’s measurements, The Parental Authority Questionnaire (PAQ, Buri, 1991) was used. In Latvia the survey has been adapted by L. Dāldere as a part in her master's thesis, 2002. The results of the study do not show a statistically significant relationship between parenting approaches and their perceived parenting styles in childhood, but reveal a relationship between parenting approach, perceived parenting styles in childhood and demographic indicators. Such parenting approach and principles chosen by parents may not be directly related to how children remember and perceive their parenting experiences from childhood, however, they may be one of many factors that influence children's perceived parenting style. Demographics, including socioeconomic and cultural factors, play a significant role in parenting practices.
