Cilvēktiesību terminoloģijas tulkošanas aspekti

Abstract

Maģistra darba "Cilvēktiesību terminoloģijas tulkošanas aspekti" mērķis ir apskatīt biežākās problēmas tulkojot specifiskus, ar cilvēktiesību jautājumiem un tematiku saistītus tekstus LGBT jauniešu portālam "Skapis.eu". Darbam ir četras nodaļas. Pirmajā - teorētiskajā daļā ir apskatīti terminveides principi un prasības saistībā ar terminu veidošanas principiem. Praktiskajā darbā ir apskatīti terminu datubāzēs un vārdnīcās neesošu terminu tulkošanas praktiskie principi un izmantotās stratēģijas. Tāpat ir apskatīti vārdnīcās atrodamo terminu skaidrojumi un atbilstība reālajai situācijai un to aktualitātes jautājumi. Darba nobeigumā secināts, ka terminoloģija cilvēktiesību kontekstā ir šaura joma, kur ir iespējama attīstība un, ka par spīti terminoloģijas trūkumam, šie termini tiek lietoti, un bieži vien tiek pārņemti anglicismi, nevis tiek meklēti latviskāki ekvivalenti. Tāpat arī apskatīts arī konsekvences/nekonsekvences aspekts šāda veida tekstos Eiropas Savienības kontekstā.

The aim of Master's Thesis "Aspects In Translating Terminology Related To Human Rights" is to look at the most frequent problems in translating specific Human Rights related texts for LGBT youth portal "Skapis.eu". The body of work consists of four parts. The first – theoretical part covers practical principles and strategies for translating terminology absent from terminology databases and dictionaries. Also there are explanations given to terms found in dictionaries and their correspondence to the real situation. In the conclusion of the thesis there are summary given that Human Rights terminology is narrow and very often Anglicisms are used instead of looking for Latvian equivalents. Also there is consequence/non-consequence aspect viewed in the context of translation of EU related texts.
