Latviskās identitātes konstruēšana mūsdienās caur tautas deju praksi

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā „Latviskās identitātes konstruēšana mūsdienās caur tautas deju praksi” atklāta dejas ķermenisko, sociālo un kulturālo aspektu mijiedarbība, kas nodrošina latviskajai identitātei piedēvētu vērtību iemiesošanu un reprezentēšanu jeb etnicitātes performēšanu. Dziesmu un deju svētku lieluzvedums pētījumā apskatīts kā etnicitāti mobilizējošs notikums tautas deju prakses ietvaros. Pētījuma mērķis: atklāt, caur kādām mūsdienu skatuviskajā tautas deju praksē pastāvošām attiecībām, hierarhijām un diskursiem tiek konstruēta latviskā identitāte. Pētījuma rezultāti norāda, ka identitātes konstruēšana ir dinamisks un neviendabīgs process. Skatuviskās dejas prakse piedāvā specifiskus kontekstus, situācijas un attiecības, kuros etniskā identitāte tiek apliecināta kognitīvi un ķermeniski, praksē iesaistītajiem dalībniekiem vienojoties par tās nozīmi.

The bachelor thesis “Contemporary Construction of Latvian Identity Through the Practice of Folk Dance” explores interactions of the physical, social and cultural aspects that embody and represent certain values attributed to the Latvian identity. This process is analytically captured as the performance of ethnicity. The research focuses also on the main dance performance in Song and Dance festival as an event within the practice of folk dance that mobilizes ethnicity. The aim of the research is to find out how social relations, hierarchies and discourses of the folk dance practice construct Latvian identity. The author argues that the construction of identity is characterized as dynamic and heterogeneous and the practice of the scenic dance is shaped by specific contexts, situations and relations within which its participants negotiate the meaning of the ethnic identity, and confirm it both cognitively and bodily.
