Abstract
Šis darbs ir veltīts domrakstu rakstīšanas mācīšanai angļu valodas programmas
ietvaros vidusskolā. Domrakstu rakstīšana ir iekļauta vidusskolas beigu un augstskolu
uzņemšanas eksāmenu prasībās. Tādēļ tā ir tieši saistīta ar mācību procesu skolā un
zināšanām, kuras nepieciešamas skolniekiem. Lai izvērtētu galvenās problēmas, kas saistītas
ar domrakstu rakstīšanu, apzināti literatūras avoti un veikta situācijas izpēte. Objektīvie dati
liecina par to, ka skolnieki nepārzin domrakstu struktūru un viņu vārdu krājums ir
nepietiekams. Skolnieku izpratne par eseju rakstīšanu pieaug, ja mācību procesā iekļauj
papildus stundas. Tomēr pierādījies, ka šo stundu skaits ir nepietiekams, lai visi skolnieki
sasniegtu labus rezultātus domrakstu rakstīšanā.
The focus of the present paper is teaching of essay writing in secondary school. Essay writing is included in the final and admission examinations - therefore it is directly related to the teaching process at secondary school and the students’ needs. In order to determine the main problems in essay writing following research methods were used: a study of theoretical sources and a case study. The findings display problems with structural organization and lexis of the essays the students encounter. Additional classes of essay writing improved the results - however they have proved to be insufficient to improve the results of the whole group of students.
