Abstract
The author of the bachelor thesis Ineta Dzalbe conducted a study “An implementation of the dynamic breaks into learning process for 2nd-grade-pupils”, due to the 21st century children have been observed to become sedentary. They spend most of their free time on smart devices, the motivation to learn decreases, thus a physiological need to move is formed, which results in doing beside things during lessons and not being fully involved in the learning process. The aim of the study is to find out the possibilities of conducting dynamic pauses for 2nd-grade-pupils during the learning process to develop proposals for more effective implementation of movement pauses at the end of the lesson. The bachelor's thesis consists of two parts - the theoretical part, where scientific literature and research were analyzed. It shows that dynamic breaks increase children working capacity, attention, and concentration, reduce fatigue and promote meaningful involvement in the learning process. Also from the empirical part, where the author of the work is analyzing and summarizing the scientific literature, selects dynamic pauses, which were included in the pedagogical trial activity to conclude which selected movement pauses provided the greatest physical, emotional, cognitive, and social benefits. An interview with an expert was conducted to find out the persistence of attention of 2nd-grade-pupils and changes afterwards. The results obtained in the study prove that introducing regular dynamic breaks, which are evaluated according to the situation of the current moment, results into the productive involvement of children during the lesson, reducing the occupation with things that are not related to the learning process. The bachelor thesis consists of 59 pages, 3 chapters, 12 subsections, 7 tables, 5 figures, 43 items of the bibliographic list and 7 appendices. Key words: 2nd-grade-pupils, dynamic breaks, student behavior in the learning process.
