Tulka tēls kino

Abstract

Maģistra darbs “Tulka tēls kino” pievēršas tulku attēlojumam kino. Intereses pieaugums par profesijas pārstāvju reprezentāciju mākslā ir nesena tendence tulkošanas zinātnē, un līdzšinējo pētījumu daudzums šajā laukā ir ierobežots, kas autoram paver iespēju veikt padziļinātu pētījumu jaunajā laukā. Darba mērķis ir maksimāli visaptveroši apkopot piemērus ar tulkiem kino un tos analizēt, nonākot pie secinājumiem par attēlojuma precizitāti, tulka tēla funkciju naratīvā un atspoguļotajiem profesijas aspektiem. Pētījuma laikā tiek veikta filmu kontentanalīze, kā arī tulkošanas ainas tiek salīdzinātas ar vēstures un tulkošanas teorijas avotiem, kas ļauj novērtēt tulkošanas situāciju reālismu. Rezultātā iegūts ievērojams piemēru korpuss, kuros redzama tulku darbība vēsturē, izaicinājumi mūsdienās, un prognozes par profesijas nākotni. Secināts, ka tulki vairumā gadījumu attēloti precīzi, tēli aizvien biežāk ieņem nozīmīgu vietu naratīvā un atklāj profesijas specifiku.

The master’s thesis “Portrayal of Interpreters in Film” focuses on the representation of interpreters in cinema. The growing interest in the representation of the profession is a relatively recent phenomenon in interpreting studies and the number of prior studies in the field is limited, which allows the author to examine the question in depth. The goal of the study is to compile a comprehensive body of examples of interpreters in film, drawing conclusions regarding the accuracy of representation, the function of interpreters in narratives and aspects of the profession that are presented. The methods of research are film content analysis, as well as a comparative approach where interpreting scenes are compared to theoretical sources on history and interpreting studies, which allows to determine the faithfulness of the scenes to reality. As a result, a significant body of examples is established, where historic interpreters, challenges of modern interpreters and predictions for the future of the profession can be seen. It is concluded that most of the examples are accurate and that interpreters are becoming increasingly present in film which reveals specific features of the profession.
