Abstract
Kinoteātris “Splendid Palace” ir 20. gadsimta Latvijas krāšņākais un senākais kinoteātris. Tā aizsākumi ir meklējami kopš 1923. gada 30. decembra. Tā ir celtne, kura glabā vēsturiski māksliniecisku nozīmi, un kur ir notikuši nozīmīgi notikumi Latvijas vēsturē, tostarp Latvijas kino vēsturē. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izzināt kinoteātra “Splendid Palace” vēsturi caur digitālajiem un analogajiem informācijas resursiem, kā arī pieejamajiem sīkiespieddarbiem par kinoteātri “Splendid Palace”. Tās ir kino programmas, kino afišas un skrejlapas. Pētījumā ir izmantota dokumentu analīze, kura aptver digitālos un analogos informācijas resursus par kinoteātri “Splendid Palace”. Pētījumā rezultātā kinoteātra “Splendid Palace” vēsture ir iedalīta trīs laika periodos: 1.Pirmsākumi, no 1923. gada līdz 1940. gadam. 2.Padomju periods, no 1940. gada līdz 1990. gadam. 3.Mūsdienas, no 1990. gada līdz 2025. gadam. Katrā nodaļā ir aprakstīts, kā kinoteātris “Splendid Palace” ir attīstījies laika gaitā. Bakalaura darbā ir ne tikai aprakstīta kinoteātra ēkas vēsture, bet arī filmas, kuras tika rādītas 20. gadsimta 20. – 40. gados, kā arī tā laika ievērojamākie notikumi.
The “Splendid Palace” cinema is the most magnificent and oldest cinemas in Latvia of the 20th century. Its origins can be traced back to December 30, 1923. It is a cinema that has been showing films since 1923. It is a building that holds historical and artistic significance. It is a place where important events in the history of Latvia have taken place, including the history of Latvian cinema. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to explore the history of the “Splendid Palace” cinema through digital and analogue information resources, as well as available prints about the “Splendid Palace” cinema. These are cinema programs, film posters, and flyers. The study uses document analysis, which covers digital and analogue information resources about the “Splendid Palace” cinema. As a result of the study, the history of the “Splendid Palace” cinema is divided into three time periods: 1.Beginnings, from 1923 to 1940. 2.Soviet period, from 1940 to 1990. 3.Modern times, from 1990 to 2025. Each chapter describes how the “Splendid Palace” cinema has developed over time. The bachelor's thesis not only describes the history of the cinema building, but also the films that were shown in the 1920s to 1940s, as well as the most significant events of that time.
