Mācību modeļa "WebQuest"izmantošana angļu valodas apguvē

Abstract

Mācību modelis WebQuest ir inovatīva metode mācību procesā, kuru sākotnēji izveidoja un izstrādāja mācību tehnoloģiju profesors Bērnijs Dodžs (Bernie Dodge) kā vienu no mācību metodēm izmantojot internetu. Pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt, kā mācību modelis WebQuest var būt lietderīgs angļu valodas apguvē. Darba autore analizēja teorētisko literatūru par mācību modeļa WebQuest koncepciju un tā pielietojumu angļu valodas kā svešvalodas apguvē, izmantojot gadījuma pētījuma metodi. Pētījumā piedalījās četrdesmit trīs 10. -12.klases kolēni. Aptaujas rezultāti liecina, ka 74% skolēnu uzskata mācību modeli WebQuest kā lietderīgu un interesantu angļu valodas apguvē. Līdz ar to var secināt, ka mācību modelis WebQuest veicina angļu valodas apguvi. Atslēgas vārdi: mācību modelis WebQuest, informācijas un komunikāciju tehnoloģijas, angļu valodas mācību metodes.

A WebQuest model is an innovative approach in language education that was originally created and designed as one the techniques of Internet-based learning. The purpose of the research was to investigate how a WebQuest model can be useful in English language learning. The author of the paper reviewed theoretical literature on the concept of a WebQuest model and its implementation in EFL classroom using the case study. The author has designed and administered the questionnaire to find out secondary school students’ views on using WebQuests. The results of the questionnaire showed that 74% of the 43 students involved in the study viewed WebQuests as useful and interesting in EFL acquisition. Therefore, it can be concluded that a WebQuest model promotes English language learning. Key words: WebQuest, information communication technologies (ICT), methods of English language teaching
