Rīgas bezpajumtnieku apmetņu materiālā ekoloģija

Abstract

Maģistra darbs aplūko veidus, kā Rīgas bezpajumtnieki pilsētas vidē veido savu personisko telpu apmetņu formā. Pētījumā lietotas etnogrāfiskās metodes, kā līdzdalīgais novērojums, līdzdošanās un padziļinātās intervijas, lai pievērstos dažādām apmetņu materiālo apstākļu dimensijām bezpajumtnieku ikdienas dzīvē. Pētījuma centrālais arguments atklāj, ka apmetnes veido paplašinātu ķermenisko telpu, kas ne tik daudz raksturo personu, bet plašākus sabiedrības sociāli ekoloģiskos procesus. Apmetnes rada to apdzīvošana caur savu un sevis izmantoto materiālu klātbūtni. Apmetnes veido materiālu un ķermeņu plūsmas mezglu punktus, kuriem ir laika, telpas, kustības, iemiesotības, afektīvā un legālā dimensija. Lai gan apmetnes ļauj realizēt fundamentālas cilvēku psihosociālās un fizioloģiskās vajadzības, tās nespēj radīt stabilu māju sajūtu.

Master’s thesis examines the ways how homeless people in Riga create their own personal space in the city environment by the creation of camps. By using ethnographic fieldwork in the form of participant observation, go-along, and in-depth interviews the goal of the research is to observe the material conditions that homeless people experience in their everyday lives. I argue that camps operate as extended space of the body which does not describe the person as much as it does wider social and ecological processes in society. Homeless camps create a knot in the flow of bodies and materials, which has various dimensions of time, space, movement, embodiment, affect, sociality, and legality. While camps allow for people to realize various psychosocial and physiological needs, they still fall short to produce a stable feeling of home.
